Caitlin Clark, a rookie with the Indiana Fever, set a new WNBA record in the season finale.
In the Fever's 92-91 loss to the Washington Mystics, Clark became the WNBA's single-season leading scorer among point guards.
She ended the game with eight points, eight assists, and five rebounds. Clark was limited in the encounter because Christie Sides rested her players in preparation for the playoffs.
Clark now adds to her impressive list of accomplishments. Her accomplishments include:
the most points by a rookie in WNBA history, the most assists by a rookie, the most three-pointers made by a rookie, and now the most points by a point guard.
Clark was averaging 19.5 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game before facing the Mystics. She led all rookies in average and total points by a wide margin.
However, the rookie has proven to be more than just a scorer.
She leads the WNBA in average assists, proving to be one of the league's most versatile players at only 22 years old.
