Houston judge orders former NFL running back Adrian Peterson to turn up many assets to pay a $12 million debt.

Robert Berleth, the court-appointed receiver, requested this order in July, saying Peterson "is known to have numerous assets" at his Missouri City, Texas residence.

The Houston judge ordered Fort Bend County constables to keep the peace with Berleth at Peterson's home on Monday.

In 2016, Peterson borrowed $5.2 million from a Pennsylvania lender, starting his debt problems.

Interest and attorney's costs increased the amount to $8.3 million in 2021.

"No offsets have been made against this judgment to date," the receiver stated in July court documents.

In 2021, 39-year-old Peterson left the NFL.

The 2012 NFL MVP, four-time All-Pro, and seven-time Pro Bowler, Peterson led the league in running three times in his 15-year career.

He is eighth all-time with 14,918 running yards and 90 touchdowns in 184 games (167 starts) with seven teams, including the Minnesota Vikings (2007-16).
