Simone Biles' Yurchenko double pike on vault has won her multiple gold medals and given her some of her greatest scores.
Biles posted two Instagram photographs of her fake funeral for the move on Tuesday. The photographs showed Biles in white on a vaulting table with roses.
"Rest in peace yurchenko double pike," she captioned.
In comments, USA Gymnastics said, "gone, but literally never forgotten."
She routinely played the Yurchenko double pike. She did it at the Paris Olympics despite a calf ailment.
Three years after twisties slowed her in Tokyo, she won three gold and one silver medals at the Olympics.
The transfer came to Biles in May 2021. A woman had never completed the maneuver before her. The move became Biles II in October 2023.
Biles asserted in an episode of her Facebook series, "Simone vs. Herself," that judges are deducting points because she is significantly superior.
"I'm almost 99.9% sure if any other athlete were to do it besides me, they would give it correct credit," Biles said of her 2019 World Championship floor and balance beam moves.
