For the basic coffee – 1/3 cup water – 1 tablespoon Turkish coffee ground Optional – 1/2 to 2 teaspoons sugar, depending on preference – 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon or cinnamon, depending on preference
To serve: – Cold water – Turkish delight or another sweet treat, optional
Pour water and Turkish coffee grounds into a metal cezve. Along with the grounds, add sugar and spice to the saucepan.
Use a chopstick or small spoon to mix. Heat the cezve on medium-low until the water just boils.
3–4 minutes should do it. To let the coffee brew, let it simmer slowly. When Turkish coffee boils and rises, remove from heat.
For Turkish coffee froth, spoon some from the cezve into your finjan.
Put the kettle back on the fire and boil it when the coffee settles. Leave the pot off the burner to let the coffee settle, then re-boil it three more times.
After four, pour the remaining coffee into the finjan. Serve with Turkish delight and cold water.
